Golden Chain Blue
• 65 properties of 3 to 3 1/2 star motel rating in 38 locations
• This type represents the largest number of motels with the widest range of locations
• One and two bedroom units are advised to be pre-booked due to limited numbers of these room types
Golden Chain Gold
• 40 properties of a 4 star motel rating in 19 locations
• Rated higher than the Blue pass properties due to quality and/or location
• One and two bedroom units must be pre-booked.

Most motels in the Golden Chain program offer rooms that are equipped with:
• Kitchen Facilities
• Television/Radio
• Direct dial telephone
• Refrigerator
• Tea and coffee making facilities
• Guest Laundry
• Heating
Children:
Children are welcome at all Golden Chain Motels. The first child 2 years of age and under sharing with adults and using existing bedding is free of charge. The extra person rate applies to the second child or children over 2 years of age.
High Season Surcharge:
• A surcharge applies in the Glacier Region between October and April each year of NZ$20 per room per night.
Maximum Room Occupancies:
• Studio Room prices are valid for up to 2 people then the extra person rate applies.
• A maximum 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children under 2 years are allowed per studio room.
• 1 Bedroom Unit. The rate applies up to 3 people, and then the extra person rate applies to a maximum of 4 persons.
• 2 Bedroom Unit. The rate applies up to 4 people, and then the extra person rate applies to a maximum of 6 persons.
